NHTA Scholarships Recognize students and need your support
- by Jeff Ustick
Teacher contributions support the Polly Tung Scholarship and the Joanne Stevens Scholarship. Both scholarships were created by the NHTA to recognize past teacher leaders. The Polly Tung Scholarship awards $2000 to a New Haven graduate who is planning on pursuing a career in education. Teachers in the Special Education department select a special education/resource student who is moving on to post-high school education for the Joanne Stevens scholarship. The Joanne Stevens Scholarship award is $500.
These NHTA scholarships are funded by payroll contributions by our members. Our goal is to fully fund these scholarships and to expand the number of scholarships awarded and increase the amount awarded. By contributing as little as $1 per month ($10/year) through payroll deduction, you can assist our graduating students.
To begin contribution, or to increase the amount, please contact Rick La Plante and specify your contribution to the “NHTA Scholarships”.
